My father was an enthusiastic observer of the nature. During his life he filled many dozens of sketch books which were fortunately saved.
His favoured medium was a 2B pencil, although some are in pen and ink, and a few in colour wash. Occasionally he used charcoal, but regrettably these have smudged. Some of the pages are showing signs of age.
The books are chaotically organised, with no regard for the front or the back, the page orientation, or the subject matter. Occasionally an older book was used, which makes dating some of the sketches imprecise.
